Rachel's work here expresses the psychology of 'the self' in particular how one reacts to change via a traumatic event in ones experience. Her investigations into this have led her to experiment with certain theories of change, in particular The Kubler Ross Model, and also the theories of Interpersonal Psychoanalysis.
Her work revolves around recovery and acceptance of change and by using images of herself as a reference to an experience, she attempts to transcend the initial image by use of narrative devices, to connect with the viewer.
This work has successfully been used within stress counselling/awareness workshops for a mental health charity.
