About us

We started our business in the UK in 1989, working with start-ups and SMEs on traditional print media, marketing and audio/video production. In the early 90's the web was born and we quickly moved into internet development and database systems. By 2005 we had worked on many successful projects in the UK, Europe and the USA and had established a great long term rapport and relationship with many of our customers, further developing into a fully fledged design, system and consultancy business known as Origin Creative.

We started a family in 2005 and moved to in New Zealand in 2007, after falling in love with the country. We continue to support long-term customers in the UK and US, whilst having a great time working with NZ companies, Government departments and NGO's. Continuing to work on international projects helps to keep us sharp and on-top of our game.

How we work

Too many companies forget the marketing basics when creating a website. You have to make the medium work for you, engaging your audiences and driving the outcomes you are looking for. We started our business in 1987, long before the internet existed and successfully produced print marketing and video multimedia for many companies in the US and UK.

The methodology we use hasn't changed since we started in business. It's a set of golden rules we approach every project with. First of all you need to get the viewers attention, then you build their interest, create a desire and guide them towards an action. All successful marketing works this way. It's simple, some would say obvious, but it's amazing how many new-media companies forget these basics.

One of our core values is that business should drive IT and not the other way round. IT for business should be cutting-edge, not bleeding edge. We believe that creating successful tools for businesses is not rocket science and that often, the best solution is often the simplest and least painful one. Sledgehammers should not be used to crack nuts.

We've worked on projects with very large organisations, such as the United Nations and Government bodies throughout the UK, US and Asia Pacific. We've also worked with start-ups from inception. Some things are consistent in producing a great result, no matter what the size of the project. Firstly, you need to get 'under the skin' of the organisation - You really need to understand their values, ethics and culture. Until you understand the 'magic' behind a company, you can't effectively market them or create systems to help their business grow.

We're a small team and most of our work comes from word-of-mouth. For us, being a small company means that the quality of our work never gets diluted - It's how we work best and give our customers exactly what they need. On larger projects, we play a consulting, project management and design, implementation role, ensuring best-practice and the smooth running of projects involving other agencies.

Our customers are our best advocates, they love the work we do and how we work with them.
